When I was researching about places to go in Hong Kong, I undoubtedly got a list put together by numerous foodies. But I also wanted to find places that weren’t just about the food, places that I could explore – Victoria Peak had been on the my list but the abysmal weather quickly scratched that off the list.
And that’s how I came to find the Chi Lin Nunnery. Set in a beautiful park, it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. There was a light drizzle when I arrived but it was so fine, it felt almost like a mist instead. The place was quiet, the air was so fresh and I felt happy just being there.
The temple itself, which is set further in is also equally stunning. You aren’t allowed to take photos there, but I tool my time walking around and taking everything in.
If you ever get a chance to visit this wonderful place, I highly highly highly recommend it. But only if you’re the kind that can deal with a little peace and quiet.
